Last year we piloted an early stages program for players age 9-12 that weren't quite ready for competitive volleyball.  We ran eight 1.5 hour sessions aimed at teaching some basic skills and tons of modified game play.  We capped off the season with a fun night that included games with all of the girls teams.

More information to come for the 2026 Early stages program.  If it happens again, it will run from late Jan to early March.

Players may play within their age category or one category above. Players must be at least 9 years old.

We try to run our program in a way that is most cost effective for every player. Depending on the age category of the team, Club fees will range from $860 for 12U teams, to $1300 or more for 18U teams. This covers the cost of tournament entry fees, uniforms, team gear, equipment, facility rentals, and coach hotels and mileage, coach certification and other club operating expenses.

Parents are responsible for travel to/from tournaments and for any hotels needed.  Often parents/players will carpool with each other and split hotels to save money. They are also required to pay the Volleyball Alberta Competitive Player fees (around $120). Depending on the club, fees in other areas can range from $1000- $2500 or more.

We collect a $500 deposit due December 18th, with the remaining balance due February 7th.

The Club volleyball program in Westlock is intended to allow your child to continue to pursue their passion in Volleyball. Once they have found a sport they love, it is great to further encourage them to play. In order for us to run the program in Westlock, we need a wide range of volunteers to make it happen. We strive to support groups of parents who wish for their kids to play and want to stay in the community to do so.

Coaches can vary greatly in their level of expertise and experience. That said, a coach with several years of experience isn't necessarily a great coach, and a brand new coach could be exactly what your child needs. Anyone can be a coach if they have an open mind and are willing to put a bit of time into researching the sport. The toughest challenge is to find someone to coach. It is an exceptional time commitment -for little or no pay. Often (but not always) a parent or sibling steps forward to coach. They must provide checks to be submitted to Volleyball Alberta, and must take a few online courses and eventually become certified.  Its a perfect volunteer opportunity to learn valuable skills, and looks great on a resume.

If your child is interested in playing, please consider coaching, or else begin thinking about possible community members you could recruit.

Teams should have a manager or two that handles the paperwork and registrations for the team, books practice times, exhibition games, ordering uniforms, collects money, and allows the coach to simply do the coaching.
